Rose A. O'Brien

Rose A. OBrien Breckenridge, Michigan Passed away Friday, August 24, 2018. She was thankful to have made it to 83 years old. Rose was born August 15, 1935, in Saginaw County the only daughter of the late Frank and Lydia (Peet) Dobschinsky. Rose graduated from Merrill High School in 1953. She married Donald J. OBrien in January 1968; he predeceased her. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was always making food (usually a pie) for family, church friends and the Marion Springs potluck. After moving to Breckenridge, she enjoyed Food with Friends and senior trips. Rose was a proud mother to her three children and the niece and nephew she helped raise. Rose will be missed by her children, John, Elaine and Donald; grandchildren, John Jr., Golen, Mitchell (Katrina), Abby (Josh) and Donnie; her great-granddaughters that would light up her face, Brynlee, Brenna and Leyla; her daughter-in-law, Danette; cousins, Francis (Mary Jane) and Mary Anne Rohwetter; and many extended family, friends and church family. She was predeceased by her infant twins; brothers, August, Keith, Rolland (Martha), Duane and Francis; and cousins, John and Carl Rohwetter. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Pastor Nate Tester will officiate with burial in Wheeler Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Breckenridge Wesleyan Church or to Commission on Aging-Gratiot County.
