Horvat, Rosa Lee (Smythe) Merrill, Michigan Passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Schnepps Senior Care and Rehab Center, St. Louis, Michigan, at the age of 78 years. Rosa was born January 23, 1938. She was married to James Charles Horvat on February 5, 1955; he survives her. She also leaves behind two sons and their spouses, James Joseph (Gail) Horvat and Kurt Patrick (Jodi) Horvat; one daughter and her husband, Deborah Lynn (Tim) Stoneman; a special niece, Kelly Pratt and her family; seven grandchildren: Justin (Jamie) Stoneman, Jared (Shannon) Stoneman, Jami (Wouter) Van Loon, Jena (Joe) Laubscher, Dan (Tammy) Horvat, and Noah and Gracie Horvat; eleven great-grandchildren: BayLee, Brooke, Brayden, Gabrielle, Elijah, Janel, Alexa, Jaxon, Sawyer, Ezra and Franja; her siblings: Arvilla "Sugar" (Mike) Leddy, Earl (Mary) Tack, Helen (Tim) McMahon, Nancy Schweinsbergen , and Catherine (Bill) Akers; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Smythe; many other nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her special grandma who raised her, Ida Miller; her grandpa, Edward Miller; her dad, Glen Smythe and her mother, Arvilla Tack; her sisters, Leona, Adeline and Judy; her brothers, Larry and Kenneth Smythe and William "Bill" Tack. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw St., Merrill, where her family will receive friends from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and then on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Deacon Aloysius Oliver will officiate.
