Roderick James Remer

Roderick James Remer Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Cartwright Care Residence. Age 61 years. The son of the late Robert and Helene (Kumbier) Remer was born August 14, 1952 in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School and was employed his entire career in the family business, Remer Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. He married Julie C. Trommer, September 17, 1982. She survives him. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose #82; had volunteered at Covenant and with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He had been involved with the Relay-For-Life for many years. Rod was a huge NASCAR fan and loved to study the history and working of all cars. Surviving are his wife, Julie, and two brothers, one sister and their spouses, David and Sharon Remer; Robert and Janet Remer; Donna and Dennis Summerfield, all of Saginaw; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In accordance with Rod's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until the time of the memorial service.
