Robert Paul Coppens

A much-loved father, grandfather, and brother, Robert Paul Coppens passed in peace Monday, October 15 at the age of 63 in Houston, Texas. Robert was born on October 2, 1955 in Saginaw, MI, where he lived for the majority of his life before spending recent years in the Houston, Texas area. He worked many years as a roofing estimator for Bruno Martin Roofing and Sheet Metal as well as National Roofing and Sheet Metal. Robert loved to spend his free time with animals, golfing, playing or watching sports, or going for walks. He was a loving father of Ashley (Kyle) Taylor and Ryan (Krista) Coppens, as well as a loving brother to surviving siblings Michael (Carol) Coppens and James (Marcia Gagnon) Coppens, and a grandfather to three beautiful granddaughters: Adelaide, Londyn, and Joslynn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude (Walsh) Coppens, father, Raymond Coppens, and sister, Linda Clipper. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Robert truly enjoyed engaging with the Light in the Lord Church in Houston, Texas and the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial donations to this house of God that provided purpose for Robert in his later years (Light in the Lord Fellowship Ministries, Inc., 10835 Seaboard Loop, Houston, TX 77099).
