Robert J. Murillo of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. He was 53 years old. Robert Javier Murillo was born on January 15, 1966, in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Marcelina (Trejo) Murillo. He was a member of Saginaw First Assembly of God and had a love and passion for the spoken word. Robert was an accomplished and self-motivated businessman and skilled tradesman. He was an avid reader and had a hunger for knowledge, especially in law. Robert was intelligent and self taught handyman. He was charming and social and quite the Casanova. Robert enjoyed traveling, boating, and was an excellent landscaper. Some may even call him a lumberjack because he could saw down trees by himself. Above all, Robert loved and cherished his family and was sincerely supportive in all there endeavors. He will forever be remembered for being a kind, loving, and giving soul who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his mother, Marcelina "Marcy" Murillo; two sons and a daughter: Robert Murillo, III, Christina Lyn Murillo, Alejandro Murillo; six grandchildren; siblings: Isabel Sovde, Teresa (Frederick) Mata, Guadalupe Sanchez, Boniface Murillo, Phillip Murillo, Sarah Murillo, Amy (Damon) Burkhart, and Cecelia (Kyle) Hickmott. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Murillo, Sr., sister, Delores Harrison, and mother-in-law, Margaret Shook.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Kurt Cullison will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw First Assembly of God or the Salvation Army.
