Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, with his loving family by his side at New Hope Valley at the age of 79 years. Robert was born May 28, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Harold A. and Alta (Schuknecht) Jones.
Robert married Patricia A. “Patsy” Giffin August 20, 1960, in Saginaw; Patricia predeceased him November 15, 2009. He retired from General Motors In 1994 following 32 years of service. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. Robert was member of the Saginaw Masonic Lodge, a volunteer firefighter for Saginaw Township, and member of the CB Club. Above all, he loved traveling especially to his favorite place the Smokey Mountains.
Surviving are one son, four daughters and their spouses, Cullen R. and Ann Marie Jones, Carrie Ann Rush, Corinne “Corkie” Barber, Cathleen “Cathy” Conley, and Cambra “Cammie” and Tom Bugenske; eleven grandchildren: Brett (Sarah) Mulvaney, Brandon (Shari) Mulvaney, Thomas (fiancée Ashley) Bugenske, Dakota Rush, Kimberly (Courtland) Gilliland, Austin Barber, Sara Jones, Megan Jones, Nicholas (Maggie) Jones, Hailey (fiancé Michael Mitchell III) Conley and Hannah Conley; 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister Ruth Schrems; several nieces and nephews and many other dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Schrems.
A private funeral service will take at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pursuant to the current state orders indoor building capacity is limited, face masks are required, and social distancing encouraged.
