Richard L. Horn

Richard L. Horn Saginaw, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Age 88 years. Richard was born on July 11, 1930, son of the late David G. and Ida M. (Diehl) Horn, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1948 and Michigan State College. He married the love of his life, Sally LaPorte on July 29, 1950. She survives him. Richard was a lifetime member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #258 where he served as Chaplain and Elf Khurafeh Shriners, where he served as Treasurer of Directors Staff and was a member of the Jesters of Michigan. He retired after many years of service as an Independent Industrial Sales Representative. He enjoyed spending time in AuGres, fishing, boating, bowling, traveling, volunteering at the Buick Open and spending time with his family. Richard will be missed by his wife of 68 years, Sally, his children, Richard D. (Mary) Horn, of Ann Arbor, Victoria S. (Steve) Kelley and Michael J. Horn, all of Saginaw; grandchildren, Kacy (Todd) Banning, Christy Horn, Erin Kelley and Lindsay OConnell; great grandchildren, Emma, Ella and Brody Banning and Leah OConnell; daughter-in-law, Cindy Horn; his sister, June Bell and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Dan OConnell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph (Bernice) LaPorte, Betty Ann (Ed) Mocny, Doree (Fred) LaClair and Don Bell. The family would like to give a sincere thank you to Southern Care Hospice for their tender care of Richard, especially Janelle, Colette, Bill and Don and also to the staff of New Hope Valley. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Don Killey will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
