Raymond Henry Hanley

Passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 24, 2019, at his home. Age 83 years. The youngest son of the late James and Rose (Ahrens) Hanley was born December 16, 1935 in Saginaw, MI. Raymond graduated from Arthur Hill High School and worked for 32 years at Beckley Equipment Company. For 10 years he shared his talents as a baker with Covenant Health Care. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball, singing in his barbershop quartet and camping. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Bridgeport. In 1956 he married Joanne Dieckman, who predeceased him in 1999. Together they had three children and their spouses, Michael A. and Mary Ann Hanley, Jane and Scott Prout, and Steven and Jeneanne Hanley. In 2000, Raymond moved to Bridgeport, MI with his beloved partner, Ruth Ann Dunkerley who cared for him until the time of his death. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Joe and Chelsea Hanley, Kathleen and Tyler Csutora, Andrew Hanley, Maggie Hanley, Elizabeth Hanley, Rachel and Brian Seaman, Megan Dickerson, Ryan Jarecki, Christopher Shannon, Aiden Hanley and Ava Hanley; and five great grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Jordan, Addison and Jaxson. He was predeceased by three grandchildren, twin boys Jonathan and Alexander, and Mollie Hanley; and his two brothers, James Hanley and Lawrence Hanley. He is also survived by his extended family, Michelle Dunkerley, Rick and Nichole Dunkerley, Russell and Rebecca Dunkerley, and their children, Kasmin, Kenneth, Kimberley, Ashley, Jade, Tristan and Sydney. Christopher Dunkerley has also predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport. Rev. Tim Behnke will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
