Rachel M. Jerome

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the age of 79 years. The daughter of the late Elmer and Elsie (Morrison) Jerome was born on Riverside Farm on November 19, 1939 in Bridgeport, MI. She graduated from Bridgeport High School, the class of 1957. She married Rudolph Barnes in October 1958 and together they had Amy and Jeff Barnes. Rachel worked at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital. Rachel later married Nicolas Marinello; together upon their retirement they moved to Arizona. Nicolas later predeceased her. In 2002 she married Peter Borsari and together they moved back to Saginaw, MI. Peter predeceased her in 2010. Rachel was active in numerous activities including: Bridgeport Community Choir, Bridgeport High School Band (playing the French horn), Flint Banjo Club, Arizona Arts Choral Society, Saginaw Choral Society, Choir of First United Methodist Church of Saginaw, Christian Generation and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her son, Jeff (Kim) Barnes, granddaughters Stephanie (Robert) Robison, Chelsea Barnes, great-grandson Andrew Rudy, her siblings: Jacqueline Matlock, Kay Jerome, Janet Brown, Allan (Marilee) Jerome, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Rachel was predeceased by her daughter Amy Barnes, her sister Shirley Bowden, brother Terry Jerome and her former husband, Rudolph Barnes. Memorial service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd. Rev. Amy Terhune will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
