Phyllis J. Towsend

Townsend, Phyllis J. Hemlock, MI Much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, at the age of 86. Phyllis was born August 24, 1926, in Saginaw to the late Allen and Adelaide (Albright) Brown. Phyllis married Robert Townsend Sr. on June 17, 1950. He predeceased her April 10, 1999. She worked for Sheltraw Market and then went on to retire from the Hemlock Public Schools. She was a member of American Legion Post #439 Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing BINGO. She is survived by her children, Denise (Don) Potter, and Robert (Sue) Townsend Jr.; grandson, Jon (Katie) Townsend; great-granddaughter, Kenley; sister-in-law, Gerry Townsend; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Arlene and niece Phyllis. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz in Hemlock. Rev. Richard Mundt will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Road from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund.
