Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and sister reunited with her son, Marcos Antonio Hernandez, on January 14, 2018, at the age of 65.
Penny was born April 28, 1952, in Saginaw to the late Leonard and Shirley (Holvey) St. Charles. She worked as a housekeeper for Covenant (Saginaw General) for many years. She always had a smile on her face and was a "mom" to many in the neighborhood. She was a hard worker, enjoyed crafts, and working with her hands.
Penny will be missed by her husband, Rudolfo Hernandez; children, Monica (James) Elliott, Mage (Joseph) Coffey, Maria (William Princinsky) Hernandez; and many step-children that she loved; grandchildren, Sherri Zamudio, Whitlee Nakovich, Breanna Hernandez, Myasiah Hernandez, Arieana Hernandez, Javier Hernandez, Ariah Hernandez, William Hernandez, Alexandria Coffey, James Elliott, and Joseph Coffey; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Hernandez; siblings, Sharon Near, Gloria Walton, and William St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty (Bob) Walton and Kathy (Ken) Hatfield.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with burial to follow in Oakgrove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
