Paul Raymond Schroeder

Passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital of Saginaw. He was 60 years old. Paul Raymond Schroeder was born on March 21, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan to Raymond and Garnet (Trudell) Schroeder. He was a proud 1976 graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation he began his over 40 year career as a millwright with Saginaw Metal Castings. He married Diane Lynn Beck on December 8, 2006; she survives him. Paul was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Saginaw Eagles Club. He loved classic cars, especially working on his 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle. Paul was an avid outdoorsman and often enjoyed riding his Polaris RZR, his Harley, as well as his snowmobile. He also liked going out on his pontoon boat, riding his four wheeler and fixing and tinkering things for other people. Paul was selfless, loved by all, had an excellent sense of humor and you knew he loved you by teasing and joking around. Above all, he loved and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Diane L. Schroeder of Freeland; one daughter, Melanie (Ryan) Rattray of Freeland; a step-son, Peter (Kristie) Cramton of Richmond; four grandchildren, Alexander, Onnalise, Caden and Beckett; a mother, Garnet Whaley of Freeland; and two brothers, Kevin (Mary) Schroeder of Hemlock and Keith Schroeder of Hemlock. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Schroeder. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Pastor Matthew Hauser will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Paul will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
