Nancy Jewell

Jewell, Nancy Brant, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed away peacefully on May 5, 2019 at Masonic Pathways at the age of 83 years. Nancy was born on October 23, 1935 to the late Walther and Frances (Mattes) Schmidt in Chicago, Illinois. She was a graduate of Merrill High School. Nancy later married Duane Jewell on February 12, 1955 in Holly, Michigan; he preceded her in death on December 15, 2009. She was a member of the D.A.V.A. Post 105, and St. Cyrils Catholic Church in Banister for many years. Nancy enjoyed quilting, crochet, scrapbooking, gardening and reading. Above all Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her six children; Pam (Jon) Baker, Mike Jewell, Melody (Dave) Courtney, Patrick (Kim) Jewell, Valorie (Tom) Roebuck and Noreen (Nick) Rechlin; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by her siblings Walther Schmidt, Richard Schmidt, Antonia Conklin, Robert Schmidt, Patricia Volz and Chester Schmidt. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on May 8, 2019 at St. Michaels Church, 17994 Lincoln Road, New Lothrop. Father John Cotter will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Theresa's Mission Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00- 8:00pm on May 7, 2019 at W.L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw St. Merrill and also from 10:00am until the time of the service at church.
