Muriel Ann Murphy

Muriel Ann Murphy (McMillan) Freeland, Michigan Passed away Friday, November 20, 2015, at her home. Age 73 years. The daughter of Helen Louise (Coughlin) and the late Cyril Thomas McMillan was born September 5, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married John J. Murphy, August 8, 1964. He survives her. Muriel was a graduate of Hemlock High School and was employed by Hemlock State Bank before beginning her family. She retired from St. Francis Home. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, its Altar Society and the Quilting Club at Holy Spirit. She enjoyed baking, drives "up north", attending garage sales and reading cook books. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving besides her husband, John, and mother, Helen, are six children and their spouses, Bernadette (Bryan) Miller; John (Laura) Murphy; James (Teresa) Murphy; Michelle (Jerry) Scott; Matthew (Katherine) Murphy; Michael Murphy; her grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Adaline, Miller, Ryan Larson, Liam Miller, Samuel Murphy, Abbey Scott, Sawyer Murphy, Ashton Scott, Clinton John Murphy, Benjamin Murphy, Claire Murphy, Xander Murphy; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Arthur Ontiveros; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathleen Gilles, Marjorie and Sam Loiacano, Marian Hughes, Pat and Char Murphy; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, a grandson, Avery Murphy and a sister, Rosemary. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with burial in St. Andrews Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N.
