Mollie D. Wheatley

Mollie D. Wheatley Saginaw, Michigan A lifelong Saginaw resident, passed away on December 1, 2017 at the age of 99. Mollie Domson Wheatley was born on March 14, 1918, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Andrew and Mary (Reisig) Domson. She married James W. Wheatley on August 31, 1940. He predeceased her, May 3, 1969. Mollie was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and its Ladies' Guild as well as the Retreads and quilting groups. She was a past member of various church boards and past Secretary of the Church Planning Council. Mollie was a retired member of Professional Secretaries International and member of Woman's National Farm and Garden Association. She was a member of the former Germania Town & Country Club. Mollie retired from the Saginaw Veteran's Medical Center after 29 years as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with her family. Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Larry Krafft; Sue Anne and Richard Thompson; Pamela Wheatley; her grandchildren Scott, Bryan and Tanya Krafft, Trent, Shawn and Brian Thompson, Eric and Adam Swiercz and ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mollie was predeceased by a granddaughter Shannan Thompson, a grandson Matthew Krafft, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew and Yvonne Domson, Jacob and Helen Domson, and her sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Sam Brandi. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Saginaw. Rev. C. William Weis and Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Memorial offerings may be made to Peace Lutheran Church Foundation or the Wheatley Scholarship established at Valley Lutheran High School many years ago in memory of her late husband James W.
