Milton entered his heavenly home on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the age of 96 years. He was born on January 21, 1926, in Lake Benton, MN, the son of Rev. Dr. Paul and Helen (Bade) Spaude. His baptism on February 7, 1926, made him a child of God. On June 23, 1940, he reaffirmed his baptismal faith when he was confirmed. Milton attended Dr. Martin Luther College Preparatory School in New Ulm, MN, and Northwestern College in Watertown, WI, where he earned his BA degree in 1948. He continued his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI, graduating in 1952. He served as tutor at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI, as pastor of Darlington Lutheran Church in East Ann Arbor, MI, and as pastor of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Bay City, MI. In 1958, Milton accepted a call to teach at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw where he taught chemistry, algebra and other subjects for thirty-five years. While at MLS, he continued his education receiving his Master's Degree in Education from Michigan State University in 1963. At MLS he also supervised several major building projects. In 1984 Milton was honored with the "Outstanding Chemistry Teacher Award" given by the American Chemical Society.

On June 27, 1954, Milton was united in marriage to Nila Jean Neuman of Saginaw at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Nila; four children, Carolyn (Daniel) Hosbach, Jonathan (Donna) Spaude, Thomas (Angela) Spaude, and Paul Spaude; two granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-grandsons, and three great-granddaughters; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Prof. Bruce Backer; sisters Victoria Ulrich and Marie Sazy; sisters-in-law Lily Spaude and Carol Smith; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Lillian and Merle Werner; brother and sister-in-law Prof. Cyril and Adela Spaude; brother and sister-in-law Prof. Luther and Ruth Spaude; brother-in-law John Sazy; brother Prof. Jerome Spaude; and brothers-in-law Marvin Ulrich and William Smith.

Milton loved his wife and family very much. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time at his cabin. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Saginaw.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St. at Bond St. Pastor Julius Buelow will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 11:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
