Michael T. Hurd

Passed away on October 24, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with ALS. Mike was born on July 9, 1953 in Marlette, Michigan to Harold Jr. and Patricia Hurd. He was a 1971 graduate of SS Peter & Paul High School, and married Pat Schroeder on April 20, 1974. He enjoyed his career as a Millwright at Delphi Saginaw Steering, retiring in 2006 after 34 years of service. Mike was an avid car guy, drag racer, and shade tree mechanic. He was very proud of his children and loved traveling around the country to visit them, his beloved grandchildren, and friends and extended family. He was the wittiest cigar smoking, fun-loving, storytelling man his family knew. Mike didnt know he couldnt fly, so he did. Michael was predeceased by his sister Julie Hurd, father Harold Hurd Jr., mother Patricia Weatherbee, stepfather James Weatherbee, and father-in-law Donald Schroeder. He is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Rachel Hurd Anger (Joshua), son Jacob Hurd (Sherri), grandchildren Ella and Graham Anger, sister Michelle Hurd-Riddick (David), brothers Tony Hurd (Betsy), Joe Hurd (Cindy), Matt Hurd (Alison), aunt Loretta Lucas, mother-in-law Marjarie Schroeder, and sister-in-law Penny McKenzie, as well as treasured nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 1:00pm - 7:00pm at W. L. Case at 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to ALS of Michigan or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
