Michael K. Boomer

Michael K. Boomer "Boomer" Bridgeport, Michigan A very rare breed of a man, passed away November 5, 2013, due to a 35 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Age 66 years. Mike is survived by his wife, Gayle (Porter) Boomer, two step-daughters, Jaime Simpson and her husband, David; Sarah Giuliani (Jason Vance); several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Louise (Worthington) and Kenneth Boomer. Mike was a proud Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran. He was known as the "Pied Piper" to animals and always having dog treats in his pocket. Mike was an involved member of the community, volunteering at V.F.W Posts #9931; Bridgeport Gun Club; the Bridgeport Masonic Temple Corn Beef Dinners, and could be seen pulling weeds from the sidewalks around Bridgeport. Mike was also a founding member of the Bridgeport Recycling Program. Mike's career included working in construction, Bushey's Radiator and Glass, Gobeyns and Bridgeport Towing. For the last 20 years he was self-employed, owning and operating MB Enterprize, a mobile automotive air conditioning business. In accordance with Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Bridgeport Gun Club, 3265 Roselle Rd. Saginaw, MI 48601. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #22 and Bridgeport V.F.W. Post #9931.
