Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was 85 years old. Mary E. Prenzler was born on September 18, 1936, in Merrill, Michigan, to the late Albert E. and Selma E. (Borm) Prenzler. She was a proud 1954 graduate of Merrill High School. She married George Francetic on September 6, 1957; he preceded her in death on September 30, 1980. Mary later married William Sheldon on May 26, 1984; he preceded her in death on July 29, 2016. She and her family were lifelong residents of Merrill except for three years abroad in Zweibrucken, Germany, and several years in Utica, Michigan. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, including Immanuel Lutheran in Wheeler, St. Peter Lutheran in Hemlock, Peace Lutheran Church in Utica, and Zion Lutheran in Iva. Mary also volunteered and served in the Ladies Aid Society, Altar Guild, and the church choir. She was a talented seamstress who lived in joy through her quilting, gardening, family history research and travels. She was a gifted cook, baker and cake decorator. Mary knew exactly how many cups of love were needed to make everything taste great. Above all Mary treasured and cherished her family. She left her indelible mark in this world by teaching her children and grandchildren all she knew. Mary will forever be remembered for her strength of character, steadfast loyalty, and impartial kindness to all who knew her.

Surviving are a son and daughter: Michael Francetic of Merrill; Sherry (José Tarrío) Francetic-Tarrío, Odessa, Florida; two granddaughters and two grandsons: Amanda (Michael) Forman of Saginaw; Kaitlynn Francetic of Merrill; Evan and Max Tarrío of Odessa, FL; one brother, Robert Prenzler of Brant. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, several sisters-in-law, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl and Arthur Prenzler; as well as many dear brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10020 E. Monroe Road, Wheeler, Michigan, 48662. Rev. Michael Podeszwa will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Freeland. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Road, Merrill, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
