Mark Jeffrey McKay

Mark passed away at the age of 61 on October 12, 2017. May he find peace and comfort with the Lord. Mark was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 20, 1955. He is the son of the late Archie McKay, Jr. and Ruth (Ward) McKay. He attended West Aurora High School. Soon after high school he became the owner of Aurora Ice Company in Illinois. After retiring he resided in Indiana, Illinois, and ultimately in Michigan where it always felt like home. He enjoyed many different interests, but motor sports (in his younger years), fishing, Cocker Spaniels, and his beloved Detroit Lions were his favorites. Mark is survived by his siblings, Pat, Larry, Sue, Paul, Andy, Mary Beth and Maggie, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Archie III and Michael, and sister-in-law Charmaine. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw St., Merrill, Michigan, with burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Hemlock, Michigan. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
