Marilyn Joyce Spooner

Marilyn Joyce Spooner Saginaw, Michigan Our loving mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2018, age 84 years. She was born on January 13, 1933, daughter of the late Henry and Iva (McGlinn) Walters, in Detroit. Marilyn married Arthur Charles Spooner on October 30, 1954. He predeceased her on July 12, 2007. She retired from Saginaw General Hospital after many years of service as a Registered Nurse. She was also a member of the Saginaw General Hospital Nursing Alumni and the Order of Eastern Stars. Marilyn enjoyed many activities to keep her mind sharp, such as reading, word search and crossword puzzles, playing cards, BINGO and crocheting. She will be missed by her children, Tim (Yolanda) Spooner and Valerie (Jerry) Shina; her grandchildren, Adam (Tina) Spooner and Rachel (Will) Webb; great grandson, Joseph William Webb; her sister, Anita (Don) Myers; her very special best friend, Vivian Stabenau; many nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Donita Brady. She was predeceased by her daughter, Terri Lynn Spooner, two brothers and two sisters. Honoring Marilyns wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life and sharing of memories will be scheduled at a later date.
