Margaret Violet Meo

Meo, Margaret Violet Saginaw, Michigan Margaret Violet Meo died peacefully on March 17, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan Neuro Progressive Care Unit. Margaret was holding the hand of her beloved daughter and heard her loving husband whisper in her ear how much he loved her as she embraced the hand of Jesus. Age 85 years. Margaret Gillam was born December 27, 1929 to the late Frank and Dorothy (Gempel) Gillam in Saginaw. She married her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Samuel Meo on June 20, 1959. She remained a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church at 2nd and Federal in Saginaw, attended Saginaw Public Schools and a graduate of Saginaw High School Class of 1948. Margaret was a devoted employee and over the years had worked at American Optical, White Haines, and J. George Fischer's. She worked at the Saginaw County Juvenile Court for the late Honorable Robert S. Gilbert and the Honorable Faye Harrison, retiring in 1994. She had many special friends while at the court and was especially thankful for her lifelong friendship with Judy Haeske and in later years Del Arndt. She will be missed by many, but especially her surviving family, her loving husband Joseph and devoted daughter Roxanne Marie Meo. Her last surviving sibling, Blanche Wiederhold; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Martin of Saginaw, Phyllis and Aija Gillam; a special niece, Janet (James) Kowalski, St. Charles, who will dearly miss the nightly conversations they had for so many years. She was especially fond of her nieces Dawn Kowalski and Heather Wiles. Holding a special place in her heart are four loving individuals whom she considered like grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Katelyn and Madelyn Wiles. A nephew who always brought a smile to her face Clayton Kaufman. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory a niece Dorothy (Wayne) Mayou and family, Meridith (Marco) Isome, St. Charles and son Trenton John; Michelle (Joe) Wardlow and children, Brandon, Courtney, Joshua, and Ella; Jennifer (Rafael) Rodriguez and daughters Shelby and Arianna. Also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by three brothers, Earl (Lorrice), John and Frank Gillam; four sisters, Dorothy Gillam, Bertha (Dan) Pildner, Virginia (Gordon) Hammer and Marie (Louis) Periard; Brother-in-law James Martin. Sincere appreciation is extended to: Dr. Al-Rejleh, Dr. Dehart, Dr. Sugimoto, Dr. Abbott, and Dr. Andrew LeFleur. Heartfelt thanks are given to all the staff of St. Mary's NICU and NPC units for their loving care and exceptional compassion. You were Miss Margaret's guardian earth angels. As she walked through Heavens pearly gates we have no doubt she was greeted by her mother and father whom she so longed to see and her beloved dog Benji.
