Margaret (Sandy) McCluskey

Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 92 years. Sandy was born December 23, 1923 in Manhattan, New York to the late Margaret (Corbet) and Thomas S. McCluskey and grew up in the New York City area. She graduated from Pratt University. She moved to Saginaw in 1952 where she was employed at St. Mary's as head of the dietary department for 35 years until retiring. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church for many years and was also a member of Zonta Club. She and her good friend, Shirley Dougherty, raised and showed Irish Setters, Border Terriers and a Brussels Griffon. Surviving besides her friend Shirley and her family, are three cousins, Violet Reilly, Emily McKenney and Muriel Wilbur; her Godson, Michael McHale. Sandy was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth A. McCluskey and C. Ellen McCluskey. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington. Rev. Ron Dombrowski, assisted by Deacon Roger Pasionek, will officiate with a service and burial to take place later in Elizabethtown, New York. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday. They may then visit at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral liturgy.
