Margaret Mavis

Passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the age of 90 years, after a long illness. Margaret was born in Saginaw, Michigan January 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Francis and Hedwig (Jungnitsch) Harrington. She married Dale Mavis, also of Saginaw on July 26, 1952; he preceded her in death. Margaret helped support her family for most all of her life as a secretary / office manager and food service cashier at various companies in Saginaw. Margaret enjoyed sewing and she often made her own dresses and attire. She also had an avid green thumb, and loved tending to her flower garden and working in the large family vegetable garden. Margaret is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, Daniel and Teresa (Kuhl) Mavis and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Husband, Father, Mother and all Brothers and Sister. The funeral and liturgy services will take place at 11:00 am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Holy Spirit Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609. Father Peter Gaspeny will officiate with rite of committal to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Road on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm as well as on Saturday at Holy Spirit from 10:00 am until time of services. Flowers are always welcome, but please no Mums or Daisies. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Church, St. Francis Home of Saginaw, or a favorite charity of their choice.
