Margaret Elizabeth (Meyer) Henning of Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on February 5, 2019, after a long life of 100 years. She currently resided in Petoskey, Michigan in an assisted living facility. Margaret Elizabeth Meyer was born on March 25, 1918 in Albee Township to the late John and Mary (Frankenburger) Meyer. She was married for nearly 62 years to Harold Henning on November 22, 1941; he predeceased her in 2003. They lived in Zilwaukee, Michigan their entire married life. Margaret was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Zilwaukee for 70 years and was active within the parish in her earlier years. Margaret has four sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Barbara (Sheedy) Henning currently of Harbor Springs; Dennis and Mary (Hart) Henning currently of Ann Arbor; Ronald Henning currently of Boyne City; and William and Ann (Smeltzer) Henning currently of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Amy (Grant) Henning; Kim (Henning) and her husband Eric Hayhurst; Michael and his wife Susan (Plante) Henning; Christopher and his wife Wendi (McKinstry) Henning; Peter Henning; Renee (Henning) and her husband Chad Smith; and Kathryn (Henning) and her husband Sean Gueyser; eleven great-grandchildren, Abigail Henning; Rebecca Henning; Emma Hayhurst; Claire Hayhurst; Grace Hayhurst; Alexandra Henning; David Henning; Eli Henning; Finley Henning; Samantha Smith; and Genevieve Smith; one sister, Sr. Mary Monica Meyer of the Grand Rapids Dominican order; and one brother Norbert Meyer of Freeland. She was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd. Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate. Rite of Committal and entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Paul II Parish or a hospice organization of the donors choice.
