Margaret Elizabeth Doan

Doan, Margaret Elizabeth Merrill, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at her home. Age 85 years. Margaret Elizabeth McKenna was born October 30, 1927, in Ethelbert, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of the late Isabella (McPhee) and John Robert McKenna. She married Lyle L. Doan on December 9, 1946, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He predeceased her August 17, 2000. She retired from Dow Corning after many years of service. She was a member of Merrill Congregational Church. She was also a member of T.O.P.S. for over 25 years. She loved playing cards and enjoyed spending time at her cabin. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Karen (Joe) Polselli, Saginaw; Sharon (Bill) McCarrick, Phoenix, AZ; Susan (Ray) Shankel, Wheeler; Marlene (Archie) Shebester, Gladwin; Jackie (Bob) Colthorp, St. Louis, MI; Bob Doan, Merrill; Ricky (Tammy) Doan, Alma; Becky (Tom) Bosio, Merrill; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jack Bigelow, Merrill; a sister-in-law, Irma Doan, Wheeler; her long-time friends, Edith Fenley and Betty Mallek, and many other dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lyle Doan; brothers, James, Donald and Ronald McKenna; and grandchildren, Robert and William Stewart and Grace Shebester. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the W. L. Case & Company Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill, where her family will receive friends from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Chaplain James Martin will officiate with burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge.
