Borrero, Lucia Saginaw, Michigan Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Lucia Martinez was born July 6, 1933, in San Benito, Texas, the daughter of the late Guadalupe (Algmaguer) and Domitilo Martinez. She moved to Michigan with her family as a young child. She met Juan Borrero Sr. here, and they were married November 2, 1970; he predeceased her September 2, 2003. She was an active and devoted member of New Jerusalem Church until its closing. She loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved cooking, singing and dancing. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Borrero, Ricky Borrero, and Angelo Borrero Sr. and his wife Michele; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Borrero; ten grandchildren and spouses, Joseph Borrero, Joshua Borrero, Ashley Borrero and Santana Oviedo, Angelo Borrero Jr. and Megan, Alexandria Haney and James, Ricardo Borrero and Mikaela, Juan Borrero and Amanda, William Borrero, Nikki Garza and Christine Forge; twenty great-grandchildren, Domitilo, Elena, Lydia, Angelo III, Gabriel, Lucas, Giselle, Bella, Akilah, Mariah, Natalia, AriAnnah, Juana, Isiah, Selena, Wyatt, Gracie, Junior, Logan and Autumn; a brother, Jos Martinez; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Juan Borrero Jr. and Vicente Borrero; one grandson, Isiah Borrero; and two brothers and one sister, Guadalupe Martinez, Frank Martinez, and Eva Samaniego. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and then on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
