Lorraine A. McCliggott

Lorraine Agnes McCliggott, nee Schwartzly, of Saginaw, Michigan and Bonita Springs, Florida

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She had just celebrated her 93rd birthday. Lorraine was born February 5, 1927. She grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, and graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral in 1945. She married the love of her life, Arthur Lewis McCliggott in 1948. Lorraine worked at Vescios and retired from Hamady. She and Art had six children: Michael, Karen, Deborah, Patrick, Joseph, and Daniel. In addition to her six children, Lorraine had eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was affectionately called "Grandma Mac" by them and many others. Lorraine loved life and stayed busy until the very end. She enjoyed being lakeside and going on pontoon rides especially on Sanford Lake where she resided for many years, and where she spent decades cherishing special times with her children and grandchildren. Later she spent her summer days enjoying time with her family at Secord Lake. Lorraine could often be found sitting on the porch drinking her coffee while watching the sunrise, or praying the Rosary while watching the waves roll in. She enjoyed rummaging for great finds at summer garage sales, playing bingo and penny slots, clogging, playing card games especially euchre, watching sports which included her favorites U of M Football and Tiger Baseball, and indulging in sweet treats with family and friends. She was a snowbird who spent her winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida for nearly forty years. Lorraine was also a devout Catholic and an exemplary Christian who was always loving, kind, calm, patient, and positive.

Surviving are three children: Karen (Jim) Mossner-Rechsteiner, Deborah McCliggott, and Joseph McCliggott; 11 grandchildren Deire (Jeff) Piotrowski, Dilan McCliggott, Logan McCliggott, Sandy Mason, Steve Mossner, Jill McCliggott, Joseph McCliggott Jr, Danelle (Chad) Elliott, Carly Jankowiak, Sean McCliggott, and Danielle (Andy) Baumgartner; 20 great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Tucker, Mia, Brooklynn, Eden, Riley, Olivia, Liam, Cameron, Conner, Ciara, Colton, Chloe, Camden, Brady, Breegan, Baylee, Sloan, Finley, and Mack.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Art; three sons: Danny, Mike, and Pat; great-granddaughter, Ciana; parents, Anthony and Lillian, and two brothers: Anthony (Betty) and John (Marge).
