Lawrence Reed Judd

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the age of 77 years. The son of the late Lawrence C. and Fannie (Bowers) Judd was born on September 14, 1941 in Plymouth, MI. Larry graduated from Plymouth High School, the class of 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Larry married Barbara Schantz on September 22, 1978; his wife of nearly 41 years survives him. He started working for C & O Railroad at the age of 18 years, and later retired from Tuscola-Saginaw Bay Railroad in 1992. Larry was a member of the Plymouth Rock Lodge No. 47, and the American Legion Post #439. Larry loved to restore and create: starting with restoring cars then tractors and doing leather repair and making leather saddles. He was a dignified family man with strong convictions. He will be greatly missed by all. Surviving besides his wife, Barbara, are their children: Shelley (Jeremy) Zehnder, Stacey (Mack) Murrell, Margaret (Elizabeth) Judd Chapman, Jeffrey (Ann) Judd, five grandchildren: Natalie (Mike) Hensel, Alex (Jeffrey) Jones, Shannon (Fianc Adam Breecher) Flynn, Wyatt Judd, Sawyer Judd, six great-grandchildren: Henry, Winnie, Miles, Blake, Leia, Duke, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his sister, Jane Johnson. The family would like to thank Dr. Binu Malhotra, Dr. Bilal Bazzi, their staff, and those with Heartland Hospice and Wellspring Lutheran Services of Frankenmuth for the wonderful and loving care they gave Larry. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral chapel from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
