Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Age 76 years.
He was born on February 10, 1942, son of the late Fred and Leona (Kade) Zeitler, in Merrill, Michigan. Larry married Laurie Tessin on October 17, 1964. She survives him. He retired from General Motors Malleable Iron Plant after many years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #455. Larry was also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock. He enjoyed flying planes and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Restoring and repairing classic cars was one of his greatest hobbies. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
Larry will be sadly missed by his wife, Laurie; children, Amy Zeitler of Hemlock, Ronald (Robin) Zeitler of Saginaw and Daniel (Mary) Zeitler of Midland; grandchildren, Megan (Mitchell) Grewer of Excelsior, MN, Melissa Bartlett of Fort Myers, FL, Mariah Bartlett of Grand Rapids, Evan Zeitler of Hemlock, and Benjamin and Anthony Zeitler of Midland; one great grandson, Magnus Grewer; his sisters, Lorraine Sholtz of Brant and Lois Maquet of Saginaw; his brother, Ray Zeitler of Colorado and his brother-in-law, Terry Tessin. He was predeceased by his brothers and their spouses, Bernard and Betty Zeitler, Wayne and Donna Zeitler, Clarence and Darlene Zeitler and Donald and Mary Lou Zeitler; mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Marie Tessin, and brothers-in-law, Bill Sholtz, Louis Maquet and Mark Tessin.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road, Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard Mundt will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
