Larry Glenn Pollard

Larry Glenn Pollard of Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was 77 years old. Larry Glenn Pollard was born on April 24, 1944, in Sherman Township, Isabella County, Michigan, to the late Clyde Archie and Margree Marie (Simons) Pollard. He met the love of his life, Ruth Helen Stark, while working for her grandmother at Stark Block and Tile. It was there their love story began. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 10, 1966, in Saginaw; she survives him. As a young man, Larry worked for Graber Roller Shades for five years. He later began working at General Motor Grey Iron, retiring after 25 years of loyal dedicated service. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and loved being at one with nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting wood. Larry also enjoyed watching tractor pulls and tinkering in his garage. Above all, he treasured and cherished his family. Larry was a ray of light to all that loved him and was aways in motion doing something. He will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, which incudes his teasing and playing tricks on those he loved, and for his selflessness to anyone in need.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ruth Helen Pollard of Hemlock; two daughters and a son: Marcia (Paul) Ecker of Smyrna, TN; Kathe (Joseph) Koback of Montello, WI; Donald Pollard of Hemlock; five grandchildren: Kendra Koback and her fiancé, Shane Fitzgerald, BriAnn (Dakota) Livingston, Ethan Ecker, Bryce Koback and his fiancée, Brittanie Riemer, and Nicklas Pollard; five great-grandchildren: Lucas, Millicent, Beau, Owen, and Nash; sister, Myrtle Jean Miller of Brant. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings: Dorothy, Betty, Helen, Charles, Genevieve, Clyde, Harry, and Irene.

Honoring Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services are planned. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to MidMichigan Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
