Keith S. Shei

Shei, Keith S. Hemlock, MI Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014, at the age of 69 years. Keith was born August 19, 1944, in Laporte, Indiana to the late Wesley and Ruth (Stebbins) Shei. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service as a Pattern Maker. He loved his motorcycle, the Detroit Tigers, Michigan State basketball, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He enjoyed helping and doing good deeds for family members, friends or strangers. For many years he coached Hemlock Girls' J.V. and Varsity basketball and Girls' Little League softball. He is survived by his wife Norita (Wagner) Baase-Shei; children, Patricia (Bobby) Ball, Sherri (Tim) Davidson, Kristine (Karl) Ockerman, Alan (Kathy) Baase, and Cheryl (Mark) Miller; grandchildren, Peyton and Austin Ball, Keith, Kaitlyn, and Kurt Ockerman, Troy (Kevin Arnold) Davidson, Holly (Brent) Welke, Robyn (Scott) Doriot, Matt (Kriya) Miller, Becca, Emily, and Katie Baase, Nick (Karri) Baase, Mike (Christie) Beck, and Michelle Baase; great-grandchildren, Brenly Welke, Kelton and Grady Doriot, Wilder Miller, Lauren and Ella Baase, and Hallie Beck; daughter-in-law, Marcy Baase; sister, Sharon (Phillip) Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the mother of his children, Patricia (Rubier) Shei; children, Daniel, Joel, and Kim Baase; and siblings, Wesley "Bud" Shei and William Shei. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Merrill Wesleyan Church 3765 N. Chapin Rd. in Merrill. Rev. Scott Bills will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
