Joanne Marie Hampton

Joanne Marie Hampton Saginaw, Michigan Was called home, Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Wescourt Senior Living. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Lottie (Mankowski) and Roman Borowiak was born December 7, 1930 in Gaylord, Michigan. She married Webster Hampton, November 29, 1969. He passed away May 3, 2012. Joanne was employed by the City of Saginaw as Assistant to the Director of Finance, retiring with many years of service. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church. She was an advocate for Animal rights. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Deborah McGuire; a sister and two brothers and their spouses, Barbara Wojkowiak; Richard and Genevieve Borowiak; Raymond and Peggy Borowiak; her special nieces and nephew, Carol Welzel, Debbie Welzel and Robert Welzel; numerous other nieces and nephews. A son, Mikel P. McGuire, seven sisters, Carrie Brennan, Viola Thomas, Eleanor Welzel, Dorothy Strzynski, Anna Hasza, Marie Bradford and Stella Eller have predeceased her. Also surviving are a step-son and his wife, Webster D. Hampton Jr. and his wife, Debra, her step-grandson, Matthew and Kacy Hampton, two step great granddaughters, Piper and Prynn Hampton. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at St. Dominic Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Church, 4735 West Michigan Ave. Saginaw. Rev. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then on Wednesday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimers Association or St. Dominic Parish.
