Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas. She was 85 years old. Joan Lee Shaver was born on November 22, 1935, in Caro, Michigan, to the late Carlile and Evelyn Shaver. She married Dwane Mott on July 27, 1984, in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2015. Joan was a kind, compassionate, and devoted wife; dedicating her life to caring for her husband throughout their marriage. Joan was a superb cook and a marvelous baker, knowing exactly how many cups of love, pinches of care, and dashes of kindness were needed to make a great meal.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Paul (Gail) O’Connor of AK; Kelly (Randy) Biermaker of Birch Run; Ross (Sue) O’Connor of Manton; five grandchildren: Jessi Biermaker, Randy Biermaker, Sierra (Cody) Smith, Paul “PJ” (Spring) O’Connor, and Kristy (Paul) Clipper; two step-granddaughters: Ashley Nowak, Sam (Ryan) Gauthier, five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Carol (Ken) Baybeck of Saginaw; Denise (Dale) Rasmer of Linwood; Sandy (Ken) Mathey of Saginaw.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Randy Biermaker; a sister, Lori (Ken) Kendall.
