Zeile, Janice M. Saginaw, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the age of 89 years. Janice Marie Kolterman was born November 12, 1927, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Alfred C. and Helen M. (Hauschildt) Kolterman. Jan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University. Jan's career in education began in Minnesota and continued at Herig School in Saginaw. Jan and Louis E. Zeile, former St. Luke's Hospital Administrator, were married on June 27, 1951; Lou survives her. Jan was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, teaching the "Thursday Special" Bible Class for special needs children and adults and serving terms on the Board of Education for Peace Lutheran School. She was also actively involved in the Valparaiso Women's Guild. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jan loved time spent with her family. She was a wise mentor to many who knew her. Surviving are Jan's husband, Louis E. Zeile, Saginaw, Michigan; two daughters, three sons and their spouses, Kathi Behm and her husband, John, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Kim Zeile and his wife, Karen, Clarkston, Michigan; Karin Harlan Mauro and her husband, Robert, Denver, Colorado; Karl Zeile and his wife, Dian, Westlake Village, California; Kurt Zeile and his wife, Lisa, Lake Orion, Michigan. Jan was preceded in death by son, Kevin Zeile, and son-in-law, J. Bruce Harlan. Jan leaves the legacy of nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Jan is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Mildred Kolterman, Chicago, Illinois, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Avenue. Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate with entombment at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. The Zeile family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
