Janet Barbara Hubbell

1 Peter 1:24-25 for All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.

Janet Barbara Hubbell, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday November 29, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

Janet was born on January 17,1940, daughter of the late John H. and Junella (Krick) Bremer. She grew up on a farm in Reese, Michigan until her family moved to Hemlock, Michigan where she attended Hemlock High School. There she met the love of her life, Glenn Hubbell, whom she married on August 20,1960 at Zion Lutheran Church, Iva. Together they shared over 61 years of life, love, and loyalty. She taught Sunday School for many years at both Zion, Iva and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock.

Janet worked throughout the years for General Motors, Mistequay Group, and Dr. H. Joseph Blair M.D., but found her true calling as a stay-at-home Mom, raising 4 children. Janet had an affinity for caring for children, often saying "what's one more?" when asked about babysitting children of friends in addition to parenting her own. She had a knack for calming fussy babies and never met a baby that didn't need holding. She was known to be a laundry magician and would iron anything. She had many hobbies, including caring for her flowers and plants in her many gardens, sewing and quilting, ceramics, attending her children's sports and music events, painting, canning, baking and cooking for large family gatherings. She treasured time spent with her group of camping friends, her painting classmates, several card clubs and especially her family and relatives. Her "Mystery Trips" each December brought countless happy memories to her close group of friends. She and Glenn travelled throughout the US together and with family, sharing memories from many areas of the country. She loved her church and was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She attended in-person very regularly through the years until very recently and was thankful for the faithful volunteers who helped live stream the church services, allowing her to sing hymns of praise loud and slightly off-key from home! In recent years, she enjoyed puzzles and farming on her iPad with her grandchildren, keeping up the roadside veggie stand, growing and arranging gladiolus to beautify the church each summer, taking photos of flowers and wildlife in the yard, and time spent with her "grand-dogs" Buddy and Tucker.

Surviving along with her husband Glenn are her children and their spouses, Bradley (Mary) Hubbell, Bartlett Hubbell, Derrick (Deanne) Hubbell, and Melissa (Michael) Reinke; grandchildren, Madelyn and Nathaniel Hubbell, Paige Hubbell, Matt (Laura) Reinke, Heather Reinke and close friend Michael Leszczynski; great-grandson, Easton Reinke; brothers, John F. (Marcella) Bremer and William Bremer; nieces, nephews, and far too many friends and neighbors to list.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper for their loving care for Janet.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road, Hemlock. Rev. Richard E. Mundt and Rev.
