James Richard Wharton (Dick) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at St. Francis Home. Age 87 years. The son of the late J. Russell and Clara (Reinking) Wharton was born November 10, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana. He married Gloria M. Verthein, July 14, 1956. She survives him. Dick was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear (Delphi-Nexteer), retiring in 1986 with thirty-three years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew Episcopal Church. Mr. and Mrs. Wharton travelled extensively, visiting every continent. He enjoyed making stained glass but most of all his church, family and friends. Surviving besides his wife, Gloria, are several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his sister, D. Jeanne Frederickson. In accordance with Mr. Wharton's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Eucharistic service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Matthew Episcopal Church, 1501 N.
