James Marvin Sawyer

Sawyer, James Marvin Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. Mary's of Michigan, age 77 years. James was born in Escanaba, Michigan June 20, 1935 the son of the late Arthur and Clara (Hansen) Sawyer. He married Violet Fass November 25, 1961 and she survives him. James worked for over 30 years at GM, plant No. 2. He was very involved in the plant reunions. He enjoyed camping, coin collecting and working on the computer. In addition to his wife, James is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Sawyer and Deborah Sawyer; a brother, Arthur Robert (Jennie) Sawyer; a brother-in-law, Ken Newton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Sawyer; two sisters-in-law, Mary Esther Sawyer and Katherine Newton; a brother-in-law, Godfried Fass. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, January18, 2013 at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ron Compton will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Thursday from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
