Irma Ann Doan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the age of 93 years. The daughter of the late Hugo and Martha (Kuelske) Krueger was born December 24, 1924 in Hemlock. She married Dale F. Doan on February 23, 1946; he predeceased her on February 14, 2000. Together with Dale, they farmed in Wheeler. Irma also drove school bus for Merrill Public Schools. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. She enjoyed visiting with friends at Breckenridge Senior Center, playing card games, cooking and cheering on the Detroit Tigers and MSU sports teams. Surviving are her children: JoAnne (Douglas) Green, John (Jane) Doan, Dean (Cheryl) Doan, grandchildren: Lisa Christensen, Julie (Mike) Leen, Keith (Tiffany) Green, Jeremy (Robin) Doan, Natalie Wiltse, DeAnna Doan, Courtney (Zac Matthias) Doan, great-grandchildren: Travis and Mason Christensen, Matthew, Hannah, Nicholas, and Jacob Leen, Brayden Green, Kaleb Calloway, and Dawson Doan, and many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Irma was predeceased by her son, Donald Doan, grandson-in-law Douglas Christensen, her siblings: Dorothy, Esther, Wilbert, Ervin, siblings-in-law: Dorothy (Jack) Bigelow, Lyle (Margaret) Doan, her mother-in-law Florence Becker and her close cousin and friend Helen Gross. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10020 East Monroe Rd., Wheeler. Rev. Gary Bender will officiate with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw St., Merrill on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
