Irene Helen Miller

Passed away on October 22, 2017 at Covenant Hospital. Age 94 years. She was born February 5, 1923 in Midland, Michigan to Bartholomew and Mary Antonia (Smietana) Chritz. Irene was a long time resident of Hemlock and was raised in the Olson, Michigan area. Irene married Oliver "Ollie" Miller on May 10, 1947, to which Ollie would say "remember the day the 10th of May". First and foremost Irene loved the Lord. She loved beyond words Ollie, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene worked at the Hemlock High School for many years and then volunteered at the Rauchholz Memorial Library for many years, which she holds dear to her heart. She also loved her church, Hemlock United Methodist Church, which she attended for more than 60 years. Irene was an awesome cook and baker, as like her sisters. She truly loved to cook for her family. She was an avid walker and bowler for many years. She was always conscience of her health and made she made sure her family was taking also care of their health. Irene is survived by her husband Ollie of 70 years and her three sons and one daughter: Robert Miller of Florida, Ronald (Shirley) Miller of North Carolina, Steven (Susan) Miller, and Terry Miller (Ted) Kanuszewski; grandchildren: Robert (Leah), Kali, Justin (Gina), Erin (Ben), Julie, Chris, Dan, Brian (Summer), Joe (Rachel); great-grandchildren: Sophia Marie, Savannah Jean, Samuel Oliver, Emilia Irene, Eleanor Isabel, Olivia Lucia, Emma Jo, Natalie Ann, Sunni Michele, Meadow Rayne, and Forest Oberon; her siblings: Margaret Miles, Gen Fleminger, Al (Anita) Chritz, Don (Ida) Chritz, Wanda (Ed) Bell, Mary Lou (Bob) Heaps, and Barb (John) Hysell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws and sister in laws: Jean Dressler, Joe (Mary) Chritz, Ed (Fran) Chritz, Rose (Ward) Dufort, Bart "Chris" Chritz, Leonard Chritz, Clare Firth, Don Miles and Jerry Fleminger. The funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the WL Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Michael Vollmer and Rev. Arthur Norris will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends and family my call at the Chapel from Noon Wednesday until the time of the funeral service.
