Obituary

Ilah M. (Lowrey) Marcy
Freeland, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away with her daughters by her side on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Ilah was born on June 2, 1931, daughter of the late George and Rachael (Vought) Lowrey, in Porter Township. She graduated from Merrill High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock. Ilah married the love of her life, Jack L. Marcy on October 22, 1955. He predeceased her on September 6, 2020. Her family deeply grieves her loss, but take comfort in knowing that Jack and Ilah are reunited again after 65 years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling together and Ilah always looked forward to their trips to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Ilah lived a full life as a wonderful wife and exceptional mother foremost. She treasured her daughters and every moment shared with them. She was especially loved in her role as Grandma/Nana, always offering her love and support. She was a beautiful seamstress who always stayed current with the latest fashion trends. She was always eager to start a new sewing project and teach anyone who wanted to learn.

Surviving are her daughters; Cynthia A. (Gene) Reisig and Marsha K. (Peter) Lea; five grandchildren; Nichole M. (Mark) Beltz, Ashley M. (Jacob) McGill, Zachary R. Woods, Natalie K. Woods and her fiancé, P.J. Lemanski, Samuel B. Lea; seven great grandchildren; Hunter Woods, Sophia Woods, Harper Beltz, Beckett Beltz, Lauralei McGill, Waylon McGill and Emersyn McGill; sister, Lillian (Guy) Garrison, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
