Homer "Skinny" Day age 94, passed away peacefully at Covenant Hospital to his heavenly home April 1, 2019, after a short illness. Skinny as he was best known, was a World War 11 Navy Veteran. And he and his wife JoAnn (Frank) Day just celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary March 7, 2019. Skinny was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was interviewed several times by the Saginaw News about large fish that he caught. Skinny and son Don traveled to Montana one fall to hunt antelope. Skinny also collected stamps and arrowheads from his early years up through his 90's. Skinny worked as a pipe fitter and welder for Dow Corning, retiring December 30, 1980, after 29 14 years of service. Skinny is preceded in death by his son Don, and son-in-law, Gary (Bink) Hoffman. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, son Harold (Suzie) Day, daughters Dawn Orr (Dale) and Nancy Hoffman; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
