Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully following a long illness, on Monday, April 8, 2019. Age 83 years. She was born on February 20, 1936, daughter of the late Hilario and Galdina (Reyes) Ortiz, in San Antonio, Texas. Lupe married Ambrocio Rodriguez on March 1, 1953. He predeceased her on July 11, 1970. She retired from Eaton Manufacturing Canteen Services after many years of service. Lupe loved shopping with her children, antiquing, gardening and traveling with her sisters. Lupe enjoyed decorating. While residing at the Buena Vista Senior Apartments, she would win the Christmas Door Decorating contest. She would also beautifully decorate the main lobby of the complex that the residents loved to see. Lupe treasured the time spent with her loving grandchildren. Lupe will be missed by her children, Ambrocio (Claudine) Rodriguez, Michael A. Rodriguez, Cindy Torrez, Elizabeth A. Rodriguez, Peggy Rodriguez and Pearl (Randall) Noah; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; her sisters, Margarita (Stephen) Ortiz-Miller, Esther Delgado and Elvira Saucedo; her brother, Daniel Ortiz; also many other special relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughters, Linda and Tina Rodriguez, her son, Bobby Rodriguez, her grandson, Marcel Rodriguez, and her brothers, Paul and Hilario Ortiz. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Jay Roussel will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
