Grace Marie Sawatzki

Grace Marie Sawatzki Spaulding Township Passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at her home. Age 100 years. The daughter of the late Adeline (Bender) and William Tagget was born December 5, 1917 in Spaulding Township where she had been a lifelong resident. She married Leo F. Sawatzki, July 18, 1936. He passed away January 20, 2000. Grace was employed at the Gun Plant during WWII and worked with her husband on their farm. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport and enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, cooking and fishing. Surviving are three sons and their spouses, Harold Sawatzki and Mary DeGroat; Timothy and Diana Sawatzki; Terry Sawatzki; her grandchildren, Mark Sawatzki; Leonette Harvey; Kim Sawatzki; James Sawatzki; John Paul Sawatzki; Tracy Keifer; Cheryl Schluckebier; Chris Sawatzki; Jeremy Sawatzki; Josephine Sawatzki; Melanie Griffin; Caroline Sawatzki; many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her parents, a son, Leo Marvin Sawatzki; a grandson, Paul Harold Sawatzki, three sisters, Esther Young, Eleanor Vietti and Margaret Tolles, three brothers, Robert, William and Richard Tagget have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at Noon Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport. Rev. John Weldon will officiate with burial in Spaulding Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral service.
