Gertrude E. Fischer

Gertrude E. Fischer Saginaw, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2016, surrounded by her family at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 98 years. The daughter of the late Carl Francis and Laura (Larson) Phillips was born March 29, 1918 in Grayling, Michigan. She married Kenneth Gibson Fischer, September 28, 1940. He passed away September 9, 1999. Gertrude was employed by Jacobson's as Credit Manager, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and the Dorcas circle. Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Geree Boshaw; Kenneth and Mary Fischer; Jon and Mary Fischer; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Geese; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Kenneth she was predeceased by her son, William Fischer. The funeral service will take place at Noon, Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Kathryn S. Snedeker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service.
