Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on December 16, 2019 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center, with her family at her side. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Renald J. and Beatrice E. (Grigg) Henne was born on July 27, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1948. Geraldine married Robert W. Peters on February 3, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan; he preceded her in death on April 20, 2002. She retired from Montgomery Ward after many years of service. She was a member of Bridgeport Community Church. Geraldine enjoyed bowling, gardening, and shopping. Above all, she loved the time spent with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, three daughters and their spouses, Debra and William Candey, Rodney and Louise Peters, Vicky Coyer, Bryan and Karen Peters, Shari and Jerry VanderMeulen, Scott and Amy Peters; nine grandchildren, Steven (Becky), Randy (Nicole), Carrie (Jim), Heather (Mark), Tara (Josh), Tobin, Robert (Sarah), Ashley, Nicole; many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her husband, Geraldine is preceded in death by one son, Steven Peters; one grandson, Josh Peters; one sister, Elaine (Harold) Plamp; one brother, Wayne (Gloria) Henne; and one son-in-law, Leonard Coyer. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St. Bridgeport. Rev. Ronald Sinclair will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the W. L. Case & Company funeral chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw; and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
