George Johnson

Johnson, George Saginaw, MI Passed away on April 6, 2016, at Covenant Harrison at the age of 78 years. George Johnson was born in Wayne County, December 17, 1937, the son of the late Martha Johnson. He married Vada Hebbener on July 26, 1962, and she survives him. George was employed for over 40 years by St. Luke's Hospital and its successor, Covenant HealthCare. Surviving besides his wife of 53 years are: three children, George A. Johnson, Debra Ellison, and Jennifer (Leland Garchow Sr.) Johnson; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a nephew and a niece, Michael Johnson and Tina Johnson; a special friend, Kathy Smith-Nolan; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Thomas Hebbener and Eiko Hebbner. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Gordon (Phyllis) Johnson; his mother-in-law, Anna Hebbener; his brother-in-law, Gordon Hebbener; and a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, Diane Johnson and David Ellison, Sr. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at the W. L. Case & Co. Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call on the family at the Chapel on Sunday, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider the American Lung Association.
