Geneva passed away Tuesday, July 30th, in Saginaw. She was born November 10, 1927 in Edmore, Michigan to Vera and Alva Jensen. She was one of six children in the Danish family. She spent many happy years at the family farm with her siblings, Serena, Howard, Dale, Ken, and Gail. She graduated from Edmore High School in 1945 and attended Central Michigan University, where she was given the nickname of "Ginny."
On December 18, 1949 she married Robert L. Bowen. They had made their home in Saginaw since 1952 and were members of Peace Lutheran Church for many years. Together they created and produced the Triple Town Advertiser, a weekly publication. During the last forty five years of their sixty four year marriage, they managed their income properties. Her loving husband, "Bob", predeceased her on July 3, 2013. She was a generous, giving mother and a role model for her children. She is survived by her son and three daughters as well as their spouses; Dane Bowen, Debbie and Patrick Mercer, Pam and Daryl Pawlick, and Stacy Seaman. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was known as "G.G." and was delighted with each one of them. The eight surviving grandchildren are Stephanie McConnell, William Bowen, Tricia Merritt and her husband, Dan, Adam Mercer, Brandilyn Hornlein and her husband, Scott, Drew Pawlick, Kyle Seaman, and Courtney Seaman. Aiden, Gabe, Brody, Madison, and Olivia, Duncan and Reilly are the seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and their families also mourn the loss of their Aunt Geneva. She is predeceased by her parents Vera and Alva and her siblings, Serena, Dale, and Ken.
Memorial services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the W.L.Case Funeral Home, 201 N.Miller Road, where her family will receive friends and family from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Rev. Richard E. Mundt of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hemlock will officiate.
