Gary O. Breidinger Roscommon, Michigan Formerly of St. Charles, Michigan Beloved husband, father, papa and friend passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side after a battle with cancer, age 65 years. Gary Owen Breidinger was born December 4, 1953 in Saginaw, the son of Garth Breidinger and Avis (Rolfe) Breidinger - Loomis. He was a graduate of St. Charles High School with the class of 1972. He later attended the Delta College Police Academy, Saginaw. He married his high school sweetheart, Marianne LaFrance, on November 18, 1972 at St. Charles United Methodist Church; she survives him. Gary was a proud and well respected Law Enforcement Officer for 36 years, Officer Breidinger was promoted to Sergeant May 8, 2001 and retired from the Thomas Township Police Dept, Saginaw on January 1, 2016 after 20 years of service. He had formerly served at the St. Charles Police Department for 16 years and as an EMT for the St. Charles Ambulance Service for 19 years, a member of Tri Township Fire Dept. of St. Charles 21 years. He also served as a trustee on the St. Charles Village Council for 15 years and volunteered at the Haunted House in St. Charles. Most recently he served on the Saginaw County 911 Board 10 years. The Saginaw Exchange Club awarded him Officer of the Year in 2004. Gary was a member of the St Charles United Methodist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, loved boating with his family and many friends on Higgins Lake, and yard work along with watching the deer and birds in his yard. He spent winters with his wife, Marianne in Bonita Springs, Florida. Above all, his most precious time was spent with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife of 46 years, Marianne; are two daughters, Amy (Steve) Bechler of Waterford Township, Erin (Kipp) Call of Roscommon; two grandchildren Zoey Zinger and Owen Call; two brothers, Keith (Jennie) Breidinger of Saginaw and Chris Breidinger of Grayling. Also surviving many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will also be missed by his special fur baby, Gracie. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his mother-in-law; Suzanne LaFrance and father-in-law; Fred LaFrance. The family would like to thank Munson Hospice of Grayling staff; April and Kristina for their profound, kind and compassionate care given to Gary. Following Garys wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Pastor Rob Richards will officiate. Friends and family may visit 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31 and 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral chapel. A Police and Firemen walkthrough will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Munson Hospice of Grayling or Roscommon County Animal Shelter. "We will always remember when we look back all the times Garys kindness made a difference in our lives."
