Gary Lee Montgomery

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday April 7, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Gary was born June 19, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Harvey and Lorraine (Levi) Montgomery. He served in the United States Army for four years. During his service Gary served in the Vietnam War where he earned many honors. He later worked for the Vlassic Pickle Company for nine years, there he met the love of his life Terri Berndt, who he married on April 20, 2007, she survives him. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping and mushroom hunting. Most of all he was a family man and enjoyed spending much of his time in their company. Surviving besides his wife Terri are his children Sarah (Michael) Hayes, and Gary Junior Montgomery; grandchildren; Payton and Addison Hayes; his siblings; Harvey Montgomery, Bill (Mary) Montgomery, Penny (Fred) Grumbley and Terry Montgomery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter Sally Montgomery and his brother Larry Montgomery. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Chaplain Perry Parker will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Great Lakes National Cemetery under the auspices of the United States Army.
